Luke Jackson

in concert

Canterbury based singer songwriter Luke Jackson has been touring and recording for over 10 years now, steadily developing an enviable reputation for himself in the Folk, Roots, Americana & Acoustic circuits.

In addition to the UK, Luke regularly tours across Europe, USA and Canada.

Between his debut album ‘More Than Boys’, through to his latest release in 2022, (coincidentally a re-recorded 10th anniversary version of ‘More Than Boys’) 5 records, including a live album were released to high praise and 5* reviews!

September 2019 marked his first full solo tour in the USA and his last full length studio album ‘Journals’ was released in November that year to great reviews and was made ‘Album of the Year’ by Fatea Magazine, with R2 Magazine saying ‘Journals’ is an excellent album from a very special singer with a great repertoire, fully confirming his star potential beyond the folk scene’.

After going back to both Europe and the USA in early 2020 for another two successful tours., Luke kept himself busy throughout 2020 and engaged with the musical community through a series of themed live stream shows. After a bit of a creative writing surge, released a 7 track EP in early 2021 of songs written during lockdown called ‘Of The Time’ which garnered great reviews with ‘At The Barrier’ noting “At a time when the gift of music is something to cherish, ‘Of The Time’ is an inspired offering” and it was subsequently voted 2021 EP of the Year by Fatea Magazine!

2022 turned out to be one of Luke’s most successful years yet. It started with a prestigious support slot opening for Fairport Convention on their Winter Tour, a dream run of openers for Richard Thompson, two weeks songwriting and performing in Nashville, including a show at the iconic Bluebird Cafe, a run of shows supporting the legendary Marillion and to finish off the year, several openers with the wonderful Jools Holland.

Luke continues to tour relentlessly in his own right, either solo or as a trio with bassist & drummer & 2023 is already shaping up to be another exciting year of shows with a full album release planned for late summer.

“Blessed with one of those soulful, heaven-sent voices that soars with emotion or plunges into brooding intensity.” – The Musician Magazine

“He is one of the most distinctive voices, both literally and figuratively, on the contemporary folk scene.” – Folk Radio UK

“I was hugely impressed by every part of Luke’s music – he’s a great singer, writer and performer, a striking new voice.” – Frank Turner

“Reminds me of Jeff Buckley, which can only be a good thing.” – Mark Radcliffe BBC Radio 2

Mishra

in concert

Mishra are a global folk band from the UK gathering international recognition, who draw together roots in UK traditional music with continent-spanning musical textures into a breathtaking 5-piece performance. Performing finely crafted songs with stunning vocals and exhilarating instrumentals, Mishra span eclectic moods; from meditative raag inspired improvisations to high-energy celtic dance tunes underpinned by unstoppable percussive grooves. They draw on training in Indian classical, UK folk, contemporary classical, and a distinctive instrumental palette including santoor, banjo, clarinet, low whistle, double bass, and a vast array of percussion.

Formed by acclaimed folk musicians Kate Griffin and Ford Collier, all members of Mishra met in Sheffield over a shared passion for the creative possibilities of Indian classical music. Their genre defying approach to composition has taken them to festivals around the UK including Celtic Connections and Cambridge Folk Festival, won them a prestigious Danny Kyle award, and brought critical acclaim for their two albums ‘Reclaim’ and ‘The Loft Tapes’ including national radio play. 2023 saw them tour the UK in collaboration with Indian classical/sufi singer Deepa Shakthi with support from Arts Council England.

“Fascinating stuff… I’m really enjoying Mishra’s blend” Mark Radcliffe, BBC Radio 2

“An airborne amalgam of cross-continental pollinations … More servings please” Tim Cummings, Songlines Magazine

Me and My Friends

Afrobeat. Folk. Jazz. Cello. Clarinet. Harmonies to melt your soul. Grooves to bounce your booty on. Me and My Friends effortlessly weave these ingredients into a sonic concoction that is theirs alone, underpinned by the hauntingly elegant songs and sparkling highlife guitar of bandleader Nick Rasle.

Over the past 15 years Me and My Friends have carved out a niche all of their own, touring across Europe and gaining support from the likes of Gilles Peterson, Cerys Matthews, FiP, Soundway Records and Quantic. Their live shows are a joyful celebration of free-flowing spontaneity and togetherness – music that invites you in, lifts you up, and keeps you dancing.

Me and My Friends are a true family, each member shaping the sound with their own distinct voice. Fred Harper’s drumming is percussive and jazz-infused, while Emma Coleman’s soaring cello and intricate vocal harmonies add a richness and depth. Sam Murray’s clarinet is funky, playful and free-spirited, while James Grunwell anchors it all with his spacious, understated bass lines and producer’s ear.

New album ‘Bring Summer’ encapsulates the essence of the band’s vision in 2025: an explosion of joyful, sun-drenched grooves underpinned by deeply reflective songwriting. It’s a celebration of authenticity, the inner child and the freedom to be yourself, and an invitation to dance as a raw, unfiltered expression of life.

“Love this group!” Gilles Peterson

Henry Wagons

CASH The American Recordings

No country music icon has the depth, enigma and songwriting weight of Johnny Cash, and there’s nobody better suited to honour and revitalize this legacy than Australian outlaw country founding-figure and brooding baritone Henry Wagons.

Known as the “Man in Black”, Cash’s music has always embraced the existential void and stared down the darkness head-on. No period of his esteemed career did this more so than his infamous, late-career American Recordings albums recorded with creative guru Rick Rubin. Across the course of these six albums released between 1996 and 2006, Cash’s every syllable serves as both a show-down and an embrace of death itself. These American Recordings records were the instigators for Henry Wagons to pick up the guitar and serve as the embryo for an esteemed career playing his own brand of gothic country music over a quarter century. Now, spanning space and time, these two Titans of twang, Cash and Wagons, perfectly intertwine in this new show honouring the songs, arrangements and stories behind these perfectly curated songs.

In CASH: A JOURNEY THROUGH THE AMERICAN RECORDINGS, HENRY WAGONS will lean into the deep mythology and sound of The American Recordings Albums. Featuring the favourites Solitary Man (Neil Diamond), I Hung My Head (Sting), The Mercy Seat (Nick Cave), Hurt (Nine Inch Nails), One (U2) and more, Wagons and his band The Tennessee Studs will re-create the sonic depth, poise and ominous force of the original recordings, as if you were sitting with Cash and Rubin in the control room.

Little Rumba

Little Rumba’s musicians come from very different musical backgrounds which is why the band presents such a unique blend of styles.

John Hymas (violin, viola and accordion) trained as a professional viola player in the classical world. He is also a highly regarded composer and founder member of the contemporary folk band Hoover the Dog.

Singer and guitarist Pete Mustill was part of the original R&B boom in the 60’s but subsequently had a ‘Road to Damascus’ moment in the late 80’s on first hearing the music of Astor Piazzolla. This led to the formation of The Tango Band, and a top three album in the Czech charts.

Little Rumba’s inspirational bass player Jacqui Savage has provided the beat for a whole series of Border and Midlands bands – most recently as part of the rhythm section of Paul Bridgwater’s Electric Blues Rebellion.

They are joined on live gigs by two great players – the brilliantly all round musician and keyboard player Bertie Playle from the legendary band Psycho Betty and by the fabulous Welsh singer and songwriter Jess Hall.

The band writes all their own music and over the years this has developed an instantly recognizable house style, which owes debts to East Europe and South America as well as jazz and blues.

Recently a musician friend hearing the new album for the first time remarked, “I know what this is. It’s Tom Waits meets Tom Lehrer” and indeed the music and the lyrics possess both humour and a haunting melancholy.

Sarah McQuaid

in concert

Singer-songwriter in a tradition that spans cultures and genres with peerless musicianship.

Sarah McQuaid’s lush, chocolatey voice combines with her engaging personality, “subtle mastery onstage” (Huffington Post) and “brilliant
musicianship” (fRoots) on acoustic and electric guitars, keyboards and (occasionally) drum to create a truly immersive experience.

Born in Spain, raised in Chicago, holding dual Irish and American citizenship and now settled in rural England, she brings the eclecticism of her background to her “captivating, unorthodox songwriting” (PopMatters) and choice of material, spanning genres and defying categorisation.

All this is abundantly demonstrated by her live album and video series The St Buryan Sessions — but needs to be savoured in person to be fully appreciated.

Join two fine blues musicians and enjoy an evening listening to the sounds and tales of the Mississippi. The simple sound of acoustic guitar and vocal brings the Delta to life, celebrating the power and energy of the bluesmen who created the musical legend.

This early raw style – just traditional guitar and vocal – formed the foundation of modern blues music. This show weaves a story of hopes and dreams, hardship and poverty through soulful and passionate music, along with tales bringing those times and people to life.

Sit back and enjoy The Travelling Riverside Blues Show on a journey through the Delta.

Remi Harris is a Jazz & Blues guitarist from the UK whose playing draws inspiration from artists such as Django Reinhardt, Peter Green, Wes Montgomery and Robert Johnson.

From the age of seven he has dedicated himself to a life of guitar playing which has taken him from busking on the streets of his local towns to performing at many prestigious venues and events around the world, including Buckingham Palace, Montreal Jazz Festival, BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall with Jamie Cullum, as well as appearing on national radio and television.

“Remi Harris is one of the great guitarists we have in this country, an absolutely extraordinary musician” Jamie Cullum, BBC Radio 2

“a brilliant guitar player” Cerys Matthews, BBC Radio 2 & BBC 6 Music

Roger Keenan is a seasoned vocalist who has his roots firmly anchored in the blues. This is the blues of not just the Delta, Chicago, and elsewhere in the USA but also the blues of Ealing, Dartford and wherever else formed the British Blues Boom of the 60’s and beyond. From playing in the vibrant music scene of the late 1960s to performing in Shrewsbury Abbey or Weston Park Hall, Roger has always stayed true to his roots – the Blues.

“Charismatic vocalist Roger Keenan commanded the stage throughout, his voice rich and soulful, guiding the crowd through classics like ‘The Thrill has Gone’” The Edge Arts Centre

Rea-Loaded

a tribute to the music of Chris Rea

Rea- Loaded is a new project that has been put together by some very experienced musicians based in the West Midlands of the UK, to create an authentic tribute to the music of Chris Rea.

Founder member and drummer with the band, Ed Taylor wondered why very few people had come up with a tribute that could accurately portray the image and sound of this fabulous singer and musician. Ed also met Chris several times over the years in the motorsport paddocks of the world, which of course was a huge passion and remains a big part of Chris’ life. It was always a hope that Chris would get on stage for a jam at one of the many F1 post race parties, but sadly his constant touring meant this never happened.

Following a short lived Pink Floyd project that included the brilliant guitar of Neil Gordon, Ed thought that Neil also had the smoky voice along with his guitar skills to do justice to these songs….so after a LOT of persuasion, Neil agreed to give it a go. He has really embraced the music and the songs, and we think he’s done a great job…we hope you think so too!

Neil and and Ed are joined in the band by some guys who, it’s fair to say have ‘ been around the block’ a few times.
Mick Lown on guitar
Dave Williams on keys
Pez Connor on bass
These fellas know the ropes!

You can expect to hear songs like these in the setlist:
Road To Hell
Auberge
Lets Dance
Texas
Josephine
Stainsby Girls
Working On It
So Far To Go
On The Beach
Fool If You Think Its Over
Jazzy Blue
Blue Cafe
Too Much Pride
and many more that will be added to the show…..where do you start and end with this…..there are so many!

These songs need to be heard again
We hope you agree.

Jon Hayward Memorial Trust Presents

Music is the Breath of Life

A concert by Wellington (Telford) Brass Band

All proceeds to The Jon Hayward Memorial Trust, supporting children’s access to music

The Jon Hayward Memorial Trust (reg.charity1121391) was set up in 2007 and since then has awarded well over 300 annual bursaries to Shropshire children ages 7-11 who would have been unable to access music lessons without this financial support.

The charity was set up in memory of Jon Hayward, who was born in Much Wenlock and lived in the immediate area for most of his life. He was a well known folk musician and singer who died in 2006, aged 53. Jon’s great love of music, children and Shropshire led his family and friends to set up the charity as a fitting way to remember him.

The charity is reliant on fundraising activities (as well as support from a local legacy) to be able to continue providing its support to children in the hope that music will become a life long interest for them.

Wellington (Telford) Brass Band is a traditional British brass band based in Wellington, Shropshire which was formed in 2000.

Over thirty members cover the full range of brass instruments and percussion. Players come from all walks of life, from teenage students to retired professionals, with many stages of life represented in between.

The band is inclusive and musicians of all abilities are welcome. Tuition and guidance are available to all who need it. What unites everyone is the shared enthusiasm, love of music, and desire to make music together.

Throughout the year, the band performs at fetes and festivals, supports fundraising events for local charities and community projects.

Reflecting the wide variety of venues in which the band performs, it’s repertoire is equally diverse. It includes traditional brass band marches, classical and folk music, rock and pop, music from the shows, and even pieces written for computer gaming.

0ver the years, the band has had success at the National Brass Band Championships and currently compete in the second section.

Fiddlebop

FiddleBop plays Gypsy jazz (think Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli in 1930s Paris) in the band’s own highly distinctive style.

FiddleBop’s “Gypsy Jazz plus” is sophisticated without being stuffy or pretentious, danceable and exciting but not rhythmically boring, and has plenty of go-for-it improvised solos but is still tuneful and melodic. Superb instrumentalists all, the members of FiddleBop also have a notable fondness for vocals, both solo and harmonised. And — like the first Gypsy jazz bands — FiddleBop’s repertoire is highly eclectic. Expect Gypsy-flavoured jazz drawn from pretty much all of the genre’s century-long history: get-up-and-dance jazz from the 1920s, 1930s chilli-hot swing, cool post-bop, jazz-flavoured classic pop, folk-jazz, and the band’s own creations. All with a dash of — or sometimes a bit more — fun and good humour 😃. FiddleBop’s musicians love what they play, and it shows!

“Fiddlebop played an amazing set of wonderful music that delighted everyone” (Brecon Jazz Club, 2024)

“… a wonderful evening of life-affirming music…” (Brecon Jazz Club, 2025)

Based in mid-Wales since 2017, the current lineup of FiddleBop features Dave Favis-Mortlock on violin; Joanna Davies on Spanish guitar; Graeme Lamble on fretless electric bass; and Paul Midgley on percussion and junk flute. All of them sing. In 2024-5 FiddleBop played at several festivals, including Brecon Jazz Festival, Upton Jazz Festival, HowTheLightGetsIn at Hay-on-Wye, Tewkesbury Live, Llangollen Fringe, Landed Festival, and others.

Krapp's Last Tape

by Samuel Beckett

STOCKARD CHANNING’S PRODUCTION OF “KRAPP’S LAST TAPE” STARRING DAVID WESTHEAD AS “KRAPP’

Bringing her unique directorial vision to this production, Academy Award nominee Stockard Channing (Grease, The West Wing, Six Degrees of Separation) explores the intricate layers of Beckett’s masterpiece and Krapp’s solitary world. Starring David Westhead (W1A, Strike, Star Wars, Enola Holmes, The Bodyguard), a veteran of The Royal National Theatre and Royal Shakespeare Company, this 50-minute theatrical experience delves into the life of Krapp who, at the age of 69, looks back over his life and tries to make sense of it through listening to tape recordings he made as a younger man, recordings which diarise the daily events of his life.

The Birmingham Press has described Channing’s production as “a complete stunner – everything comes down to the acting and, in the case of Krapp’s Last Tape, to the ability of one man to hold the stage. Westhead, intense and compelling, and returning to the theatre after several years of absence, looked as if he had never been away.”

The production has toured globally to eclectic, site-specific venues, from disused function rooms to underground vaults, affording an intimate and powerful theatrical experience.

John McAndrew of the Royal Shakespeare Company praised the production as “Just terrific…brilliant, outrageous, and heartbreaking,” as it continues to captivate audiences worldwide with its exploration of memory, lost love, and unfulfilled ambition.

Roy Walker

Roy Walker, well known to TV viewers through the ITV game show ‘Catchphrase’, has emerged as one of the driest comedians in Britain today.

His lugubrious style of humour, his dead-pan expression and his approach to entertaining have paid handsome dividends. His casual line in patter has endeared him to audiences all over the country. ‘To be honest, when I am on stage, I’m just being myself,’ he admits. ‘I tried all the quick-fire, clever stuff when I started out in the business; but my Irish accent was such that no one could understand me. I had to slow down my delivery and the style just developed from there’.

Roy broke through to national prominence in 1977 when he recorded the highest marks ever given to a comedian on television’s New Faces talent show. It was the start of a television career that has seen him starring in many major TV variety shows.

In 1987 Roy hosted his first series of Catchphrase which went on to become a very popular and high-rating addition to the ITV Network scheduling each year. More recently it has also been screened on Challenge TV.

The Forcefields

Camping in a garden shed on England’s southernmost coast, The Forcefields forged their identity. There in the woods with a vintage synthesizer and a 1940s tank microphone, exuberant songwriter Julia Othmer and experimental producer James Lundie needed a way to protect themselves from distraction and focus on writing. So Lundie summoned a persona, Max Forcefield, to make space for creative magic. This magnetic field has now expanded to include a fantastical stage show with multimedia projections and an invitation for audiences to enter into their intimate and immersive forcefield of sound and light.

A Forcefields show starts outside the theatre—the lobby hums with drones and shadow puppets light up the walls. Songs are cast like spells over artful and engaging video projections. Every interstitial moment of their performance is sewn together with time, space and music bending and blending at the edges. With productions that are scalable and site-specific, The Forcefields are equally at home in a black box theatre, a festival stage or a makeshift backyard concert.
